A tumultuous few weeks at San Diego State University continued Thursday with a visit by conservative activist David Horowitz, who had sparked tension on the campus with posters that singled out seven students for allegedly supporting terrorism and hatred of Jews.[u/]
There was high security at the event venue, but no demonstrators showed up.
At the invitation of a Republican student group, Horowitz came to the school to make a presentation on Israel a day after some students and two national civil-rights groups called on SDSU President Elliot Hirshman to resign over what they described as his failure to condemn the posters.
...snip...
Citing lack of space in the 70-seat room where Horowitz gave his talk, the host group San Diego State College Republicans denied access to several journalists including a reporter for The San Diego Union-Tribune.
Yeah...I wasn't being racist. But, if I was, they were racist first. And worse! Neener neener!

(1,357 posts)A short clip:
For David Horowitz, the godfather of the modern anti-Muslim movement, the culture war that began when he was young never ended. Only the target has changed.
As one of the founding Marxist intellectuals of the New Left in the 1960s, Horowitz was a self-professed political radical a pugnacious advocate of civil rights and equality. Now, a half-century later, he has undergone an about-face and set his sights on Muslims.
For Horowitz, Muslim Student Associations are arms of the Muslim Brotherhood, which is the fountainhead of the terrorist jihad against the West. Hillary Clinton adviser and Muslim Huma Abedin is a Muslim Brotherhood operative who is worse than Alger Hiss. And the Palestinians, all of them, are even worse.

(1,357 posts)This sums it up for me:
These posters are the latest in a string of virulently anti-Muslim and anti-Arab posters plastered across college campuses in recent years by the David Horowitz Freedom Center, whose founder, David Horowitz, has been called the godfather of the anti-Muslim movement by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Since 2007, Horowitz center has organized Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week programming at hundreds of campuses. He has also spoken virulently against civil rights, LGBT equality, feminism, and much more. At UCLA, his targets have expanded from simply attacking students to also attacking two black faculty members who are vocal supporters of Palestinian rights.
Placing these posters on the SDSU and UCLA campuses is a McCarthyite tactic, clearly intended to threaten the academic and professional prospects and careers of campus pro-Palestine activists, to intimidate and silence. It is a fear-mongering tactic that places those named in danger of harassment and physical harm, both on and off campus.
In addition to an attack on activism in support of Palestinian rights, these posters are blatantly Islamophobic. They single out by name and demonize students and faculty for being members of a religious organization, the Muslim Students Association, which provides resources, programming, and community support for Muslim students on campuses across the country. This intimidation adds to a rising tide of Islamophobia and anti-Arab racism on college campuses and throughout the United States.

(2,329 posts)The people he named are leaders of the SJP/BDS movements on the various college campuses. Some of them are neither Arab nor Muslim.
It is not islamaphobia when you call out members of groups who align themselves with Hamas
SDSU has been listed as the #6 college in the 10 Colleges with the worst Anti-Semetic Activity. UCLA is #9. Much of the anti-semetism stems from the targeting of jewish students by SJP and BDS members.
