It be fun to watch him have to walk that back. 😄

I think Trump is romancing Susana Martinez, the Gov of NM, personally.

Norm Coleman is a nebbish. And there it is. He is a proven loser, and nobody remembers him any longer. I doubt it very much.

Maybe she's just what he needs in a running mate. As long as he can keep her from opening her mouth to speak, it's all good.

some nasty stuff to walk back:

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) called Donald Trump an “orange-faced windbag” on Monday, the latest insult in his feud with the GOP presidential front-runner.

“Donald Trump is a delusional narcissist and an orange-faced windbag,” he said on Comedy Central’s “The Nightly Show.”

“Have you ever had a speck of dirt fly into your eye?” he continued, mocking Trump."[It is] annoying, irritating and might even make you cry.
“If the dirt doesn’t go away, it will keep scratching your cornea until eventually it blinds you with all its filth. A speck of dirt is way more qualified to be president.”

Paul also likened Trump to Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels.

“I’m not sure I would say Trump is Hitler – Goebbels maybe,” he said.

Former Texas Rep. Ron Paul said Friday he couldn’t support GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump if Mr. Trump wins the party’s nomination, saying Mr. Trump’s views on the scope of executive authority could surpass those of President Obama.

“No, I couldn’t do that,” Mr. Paul said on Fox Business Network when asked if he would support Mr. Trump, should the billionaire businessman win the GOP nomination. “He’s [the] opposite of a libertarian.”

seat. Walter Mondale ran in Wellstone's place, the memorial and the coverage went to crap, and Coleman won. Franken challenged and beat him six years later and he's been a private craven asshole instead of a public one ever since.

ETA: Pawlenty was the governor when the bridge collapsed.

Trump knows he's going to be running against a woman. In his three-cell intellect he believes women will vote for Hillary because she's a woman (and not because the alternative is a reprehensible troll who does nothing unless there's a lot in it for him), so he has to "balance" his ticket by putting a woman on it.

We know he needs someone with governmental experience, who is staunchly anti-abortion and rabidly right-wing. There are four choices he might look at.

The first is Palin.
Pros: has been a governor, even further to the right than Trump is, worships the ground The Donald walks on.
Cons: the gods do not love the Democratic Party enough to put Sarah Palin on the ballot.

The next name I've heard mentioned is Michele Bachmann.
Pros: (space will be filled in if anyone thinks of one)
Con: she'll be one if the government ever looks close at her husband's so-called clinic.

The third is Susana Martinez.
Pros: probably the most levelheaded of all these women. Has decent backstory.
Con: if you think a Mexican-American woman is going to run alongside a guy whose campaign is built on anti-Mexican xenophobia, you are dumber than you look.

Which brings us to Joni Ernst.
