Bellevue businessman Patrick Shannon is making another bid for public office, even though he still has an unpaid $16,000 fine for violating campaign laws in 2004.
Shannon said the fine is a nonissue for the campaign as he runs for the at-large seat on the Bellevue City Council. Hes running against Jack Bangert and Rob Klug, and only two will advance to the November election.
The incumbent, Carol Blood, is running for the Nebraska Legislature. (Donate to Carol as the GOP and Koch's are attacking her:

In 2013, Shannon was appointed to the Legislature by Gov. Dave Heineman but resigned the same day after questions emerged about the outstanding fine and liens against his business.
