Email received from Tim Canova - DWS is really one sick puppy.

Dear Sisters and Brothers -

Sunday, at the grand opening of the Broward County Democratic Party's new headquarters, I spoke in a crowded room with Debbie Wasserman Schultz. I asked if she had read the letter we had sent last week. She said she had not read any letter from our campaign, even though we had sent it to three of her addresses, including her campaign headquarters, her DWS PAC, and her office at the Democratic National Committee.

I then produced a copy and said “I was happy to hand deliver it.” She refused to take the letter and told me to give it to one of her staffers. I said I would, and I told her the letter was proposing a series of debates throughout the district. I asked her if she would agree to scheduling debates. She asked how we could have debates when no one has even filed yet. I reminded her of what she said recently about the Democratic presidential debates on The Daily Show, that she would want the candidates to debate every day, and I'm proposing a lot fewer than every day. She cut off the discussion without agreeing to a single debate.

Later, when I was leaving the party, I noticed her staffer standing near a doorway. I thought, well at least I can hand her staffer the letter proposing a series of debates. But she refused to accept the letter, she said she had “nowhere” to put them. I suggested she put them in one of the two huge pocket bags she had over each of her shoulders. She said there was no room and that she had read the letter already.

That’s fine, for now. If the Wasserman Schultz campaign wants to play games and lash out at me and my staff, then we’ll stay focused on talking to the voters about the progressive vision we have for this country.

It's his sig line, which has no bearing on his post. Furthermore, it's a cautionary tale told in one sentence, not an advocation of the idea.

Calling the poster "schizophrenic" is not only uncalled for, it's against the rules here. I will not speak to whether this poster supports DWS, although the answer to that question should be obvious, but I can tell you that I very much do NOT.

A post cannot be schizophrenic. It has no mind of its own. It does not have the physiology, the psychology, or the humanity to be schizophrenic.
By calling the post schizophrenic you were clearly inferring that malady upon the author of the post.
Own it!
I suggest using such inferences does not help your argument, and in fact only serves to bring your own motives into question.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=7753962

REASON FOR ALERT

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

Not cool to call someone schizophrenic..

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Tue Apr 12, 2016, 01:46 PM, and the Jury voted 2-5 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: *Post* is called schizophrenic, not the OP.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: The post indicates some comprehension issues and a deep misunderstanding of what schizophrenia is, but I'm not convinced this is a personal attack or slur. It's a clumsy attempt to indicate the individual thinks a post is contradictory, but I don't see anything worse than someone with an inability to communicate effectively. I think most people who read this exchange will grasp that.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Alerter: Not cool to fail this obviously at reading comprehension, or to waste our time. My guess is, disingenuous alert?
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Reading Comprehension for the loss. The post that was alerted on failed in reading comprehension for the post he or she was replying to, and the alerter failed reading comprehension for the post alerted on. Good game folks, that's a wrap.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: A pretty stupid post (see what I did there?) - but note hide-worthy
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #7 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: agreed... leave off the personal attack and the post would have been fine. Hide it.

Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

She does not have a lot of respect for her opponent. Not knowing much about things there in Florida, I cannot say if that is right or wrong. I will say though, that here in Kansas, we do sometimes have people run for office that do not deserve much respect.

And I am not just talking about myself.

She has the upper hand, and is not gonna take chances and help her opponent. That's what most people would do if they had the upper hand. Unfortunately chances are very, very good that she will win handily. Maybe unfortunately - I do not know much about this Tim fellow. He sure spent a lot of time here not talking about any substance, but just telling some dramatic story.

Although their people skills do seem weak. It is simple enough to take the letter and then put it in the trash later.

I do not know if using debates is an effective campaign strategy for Tim. I'd be scared to debate her myself. 1) She is probably a very capable debater, 2) she has staff to help her prepare, and 3) she's been in Congress and in state offices for a long time - as such she has probably gained a whole bunch of knowledge on a whole bunch of issues that the average person simply can not match. Unless Tim is a wonk, or a savant, or has a whole bunch of experience in office, she's probably gonna mop the floor with him in a debate.

That doesn't mean she'd make a better Congressperson, but I'd be realistic about debates. Incumbents just have tremendous advantages in that arena.
