Gettysburg man selling Hillary Clinton's car

Mike Lawn worked for seven presidents and met nine. That number could be up to 10 by November if Hillary Clinton wins the White House. He just happens to be selling her car, which sits in his driveway adorned with an Arkansas license plate and a 1990 "Clinton for Governor" sticker on the back windshield.

Lawn, who lives in Gettysburg, worked at the White House for 29 years, from the Carter administration through the most recent Bush. He was head gardener through the National Parks Service in 2000, when the Clintons offered up the first lady’s 1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass in a bidding process. As the car has sat in his garage for 16 years rarely used, Lawn decided now, given the timing of Clinton’s campaign, would be the best time to say goodbye to the presidential candidate’s car.

“I’m ready to have it go down the road,” Lawn’s wife, Joyce, said. “It’s time. We’ve had it too long.”

When he purchased the car from the Clintons, he intended to give it to his daughter when she turned 16 and needed to drive to school. He took her to see it after cementing the deal with Clinton, only to find she was not impressed.

“She said it looked like an old lady’s car,” Lawn said. “She didn’t know why it had cranks in the windows.”

I just posted the story on the Cruz rally here in my town. Though I did score an Uncle Sam picture. Yes, it is political, but also pure Americana. Though I was debating whether to run the protesters included a HRC supporter. I got confirmation on my feed. She posted, I WAS THERE.

So I can use the levity, As to the stickers. Yes, they are historic.

I have to say we have all been overdosed with Trump, but what's happening now is clearly history - of a type we've never experienced before. It is one or the books and we need to remember our history for the future, including the bad stuff. Maybe especially the bad stuff, since we tend to forget.

As for Hillary Clinton's car, it's a real collector's item. And with only 30,000 miles, that's a lot less than mine has.

especially since I spoke to two who are truly in the anybody but trump bandwagon.

And like Sanders, we also ran the full speech... as in the sound file, If we get more and we can get in, we shall do that again, unless we have an equipment failure. It was funny though, after that Sanders event, we all travelled light today.

That was very well done - and without bias, must be a tough thing to do just now, but you managed it. People can draw their own conclusions, all they needed were the facts, using their own words.

Both Bernie and Trump were in Albany (NY) today. The local news had interviews with Trump supporters, scary stuff, but that was all we needed to hear, as well.

Keep up the good work!

It was Hillary's personal car. When the Clintons moved from the Arkansas Governor's mansion to the White House, they were technically homeless and had no place to leave it, so the car was parked at the White House for 8 years. Chelsea learned to drive on it.

Even if Hillary wasn't running for president now, there's certainly a lot of history there. I'm surprised that collectors aren't very interested. And yet this guy just purchased the First Lady's car so his daughter could drive it to school!

That would be a gamble, but the car will greatly increase in value if it's the POTUS' former car.

Not to mention that it was driven by the First Lady of Arkansas with a Clinton for Governor sticker in the window! I'm actually surprised he waited so long, LOL. But you do have a point...

that Larry KKKlaymon and the Judicial Witch people are going to snatch this up so they can do forensic analysis on the carpet fibers, and claim they match what was found on Vince Foster?

BTW - the 70's era Cutlass was a bad-a$$ car, but by the 80's, the cars had all become "K-carred"

Or Hilary Clinton, a schoolteacher in nearby Harrisburg?

Remember George Costanza and Jo(h)n Voight's car.
