Write whatever message you wish or none, then put it in the postage-paid envelope and send it back. If you like, include a line in your response that you are willing to waste as much postage as they are - as long as they are paying for it. If they don't include a self-addressed envelope, then you just recycle the thing and what is lost by that? Well, aside from the original tree but that was probably getting cut down anyway so they can put those annoying cards in your magazine.
