General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsThis whole place is becoming a snooze zone for us not fighting about the primaries.
This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Goblinmonger (a host of the General Discussion forum).
Every damn thread is about Bernie or Hillary. Hillary or Bernie. "Look at what awful thing this one did" "Look at what awful thing the other one did" "We have such a big lead" "No you don't"
There is nothing interesting to read anymore. Nothing about the world about politics except the Democratic primaries.
Has anyone looked at what congress is doing? I usually get my news here but no more because there is group OCD that has taken over.
Anyway that's it. I hate to have to go look for news other places but I supposed I'll have to until this thing is over.

(20,544 posts)the fighting is just supplying the RW with more for opposition research - Democrats doing their job for them.
Now that the Oregon stand-off is over, there is not much to read about other than the insults flying everywhere.
Why can't people be satisfied with their choice and leave it at that?

(5,461 posts)is, so I don't care for the bickering. I don't like Hillary or Bernie - they both inspire as much passion as a dead fly trapped in a quagmire, so bleh...

(3,205 posts)the Deaniacs vs all the rational people. lol (that was a joke people, do not start on me.)
I've been here since 2001, don't post much but I read DU everyday. I don't have anybody or any forums blocked, I guess I've just been here long enough to develop a healthy dose of tolerance and the ability to ignore some subjects. My advice is to develop the ability to drive past the accident without slowing down and staring.

(37,748 posts)Even prior to the primaries, separating the chaff from the wheat was a frustrating exercise. And now, with app. half the posts in GD and GDP (esp.) being little more than bumper-stickers replying to each other, it's become even more prohibitive to find a substantive or analytical post or a thread.
However, having gone through (now) four primary seasons on DU, I tell myself that even though passions run high and dogmas are absolute, this too shall pass. Whether that be April, May or June when a lock is announced, we'll simply have to stumble through the morass of fallacies, distempers, empty rhetorical devices, and Progressive Purity Pogroms.

(22,340 posts)The hosts try very hard to make sure that all primary discussions stay in GDP so that there is a group (this one--GD) in which non-primary news can be discussed. We feel we have been as successful at this as possible.
