He was also dubbed the "Speedway Bomber" in 1978. I ran across a few things, but they're from RW online rags. I can't find any legitimate news source about him.

(13,645 posts)keep him from talking to reporters? I vaguely remember that story. Legit news story's would be buried in archives. I suppose you'd have to have an online subscription to a major daily to dig those up.

(31,011 posts)What little I've gotten is that he earned a law degree in prison, started a charity group after he got out and is being supported by Soros and Barbra Streisand. I'm not even sure what he did to have been sent to prison for 17 years.
There is more to this. I'm sure of it. When these RW rags make such attacks on someone, I'm generally suspicious. It usually turns out that it's totally misplaced and out of line.

I can't find anything legitimate connecting him with about what RW bloggers are up in arms about now. He seems to have been involved in a court case recently, but I haven't seen anything neutral written about it (probably because it looks very tedious).
