Quinnipiac Poll has Mittens taking a six-point lead over Obama in Florida 47-41, but I guess you could manufacture a lead such as that with these kind of demos:
640 Republicans Interviewed
507 Independents Interviewed
493 Democrats Interviewed
So, 39% of the survey are Republicans, 31% are Indies & ONLY 30% are Democrats. 70% are GOP and Indies.

scroll down to bottom and select 'demographic Summary'
According to Florida Voter Registration Records there are 40% Democrats, 36% Republicans and 24% Indies in Florida, thru April of this year. Yet Quinnipiac has fewer Dems interviewed than either GOP or Indies!

(6,960 posts)From what I read in the poll press release, we don't know how the respondents were qualified, that is did they ask how certain people were likely to vote in November.
And that may account for the weight of the party sample.
I don't think Quninnipiac is trying to do a bias poll ... that is certainly not in their own self-interest as a credible polling organization.
Plus, I think it is a silly game to immediately trash polls just because one comes out that doesn't have the results you might want to see.
Frankly, I think (as the Obama campaign spokespeople are always saying) that this is going to be a very close and hard fought campaign. I also think that most people are seriously underestimating just how potent is going to be the hundreds of millions of dollars that the rightwing super PACs are going to spend.
I, for one, am not surprised that Rmoney is ahead in this snapshot poll -- this is Florida after all.
More worrying to me is the Wisconsin recall election. I sure hope the DNC and Obama campaigns are pulling out all the stops for Barrett. If Walker wins, it is going to be a real downer and demoralizer for Democrats and progressive around the whole country.

these polls should be debunked if at all possible because the media uses them to set the narrative and uninformed voters fall for this kind of stuff.
