4. Even if you broke the media monopolies, the rich can still buy the politicians like always.

When politicians rely upon private cash to run a campaign, the easiest path is to court the wealthiest donors.

It'd be far easier to court a group of 2000 people who can donate $2,000 each for a total of $4,000,000 for your campaign vs. courting 40,000 poor workers who can only donate $100 each for the same $4,000,000 sum. For most politicians, this is a no-brainer, and the wealthy donors can offer better gifts anyway.
