Finding a hairball in a pipe isnt unusual. But when its got four legs and whiskers, unclogging that pipe takes some ingenuity.
On Wednesday afternoon, Verizon workers discovered a trapped kitten in the 800 block of Greenbrier Circle, near the Chesapeake Conference Center, said Animal Control Superintendent Kathy Strouse.
The kitten had been stuck for hours in a PVC pipe underground below concrete, Strouse said. A large generator sat on top.
Animal Control Officer Sandy Hudson struggled to reach the feline, which kept retreating from her arsenal of tools, including a long, metal snare pole and 3½-foot-long tongs.
