What are YOU angry about?

Last edited Sun Aug 23, 2015, 06:57 PM - Edit history (1)

If I hear one more political reporter say that the Trump supporters are “angry” I’m going to puke. Now Chris Matthews, of Hardball has started saying it, as does Chuck Todd, and every Liberal and Republican Contributor on Morning Joe. On his program the other day, Chris Mathews says that "I get it. These people are angry. They’re not just a bunch of crazies."

My question to Chris is “What the hell are they angry about?” Big businesses and billionnaires are the ones that sent their jobs overseas. Big business is the ones who brought in cheap Mexican labor when blacks moved to the cities to take low paying jobs as janitors and dishwashers rather than continue the back breaking work of hours spent laboring in the fields of California farms. Then when those uppity blacks had the nerve to demand better wages in the city factories, hotel kitchens, and sweatshops, they brought in Mexican workers to displace blacks in those janitorial positions and kitchen help.

No one was angry then. When Big Business made Steel workers disassemble the plant and equipment needed to make steel and box it up and ship it overseas, and even train their replacement workers, I don’t remember white people in masses getting angry. Or when Big business brought in Indian workers to this country on B1 and B2 Visitor Visas to displace Computer Programmers , and Nurses, and Mitt Romney and his ilk bought up businesses and shipped jobs overseas to Chinese workers and replaced American textile and factory workers, clothing manufacturers and furniture makers, I think the ‘angry folks’ were MIA. As they were when the big Homebuilders began bringing in Mexican workers to pour concrete, lay tile, and hang drywall. These were powerful Big Businessmen, like Trump, who all you "Angry" people NOW, bow down to and aspire to be like. Now it's all Bill Clinton's fault that he signed NAFTA, something that I'm sure every Big Businessman in American supported. So now, once again, the liberal media has decided that white people are angry and they have a right to be because they want their country to be Great again, and it's all the Mexican's fault. My question is, ”What are YOU angry about?”

I’ll go first.

I’m angry that the minority leadership of both Houses of Congress, on the eve of the Inauguration of the first black president of the United States in 2009, met in a hotel restaurant in the nation’s capital to plot and collude the demise and further deterioration of our nation's economy, lead by the collapse of our financial institutions, as a political strategy for returning to majority leadership, by doing anything and any means necessary to insure the failure of this President and his Administration, and with the full support and cooperation of those people who NOW claim to be ANGRY, once those deeds were publicly exposed, and they were never made to pay a price for their treasonous actions.

People are running double-time to keep up in most cases. They don't delve into the whys and wherefores of what's going on or who is responsible because it's either too complicated to figure out or they just don't give a damn anymore.

I'll bet the average household doesn't listen to national news more than 15 minutes/day. They might give a passing glance at the local and regional news, weather reports and sports, but little else. Most are already sick of the 2016 election. People are just trying to do what's right and get ahead, even though that little trick has become harder by the day.

It's just so much easier to say you are angry and hope everyone gets it.

...that black people are dying while in jail on minor offenses, in 2015.

I'm angry that going to jail while white is an inconvenience, whereas going to jail while black is a death sentence. #MichaelRobinson #SandraBland

That's what I'm angry about lately.

Because a black person from Kenya became president, and blacks have access to affordable healthcare, and Hillary emailed someone about Benghazi, and the US will have access to iran's nuke facilities to inspect them and Bernie is a socialist.

You know, perfectly reasonable stuff.

Oh, and gays are allowed to make decisions mutually as consenting adults. That too.

While we pay for wars, domestic infrastructure is always on the table for cuts to pay for budget problems.

We need to get labor law back in place before people's lives are torn apart by the gig economy and 24/7 project cycles.

We need to repair Clinton's "welfare deform" and replace it with Housing First, Public Housing as a "public option" to bring down rents in general, timeliness/accountability for all aspects of social services the burden of errors aren't shifted onto people at the edge of homelessness, sense-it-makes case management, housing vouchers for people in training, and fast-track to work for the long term unemployed.

We need to end mass incarceration - especially as a source of quasi-slave labor (which it has become in large states like California and Texas). When we know that sentencing in the first place is discriminatory, then policy needs to change yesterday.

We need to de-militarize our society: both on the civilian side and the police side.

But do little or nothing else about it.
Black people have been killed by cops for years now and nothing but talk and damn little of that from politicians.
The prices on everything including rent keeps going up and wages are not...and nothing has been done about that either. We have health insurance but can't afford health care.
Gitmo is still in business and the wars are still on spending billions a day and no end in site.

And all we hear is excuses...the bad guys won't let us do anything.
