For every uber-wealthy person who got there by hard work and talent, there's a dozen who got there by inheritance, corruption, thievery, environmental destruction, raiding pension funds, abusing their workers, and so on.

Nobody should be so wealthy that they can buy government, or so poor that they can't have secure comfortable housing, good food, good schools, and appropriate medical care.

Ordinary wealth is a fine thing, the big house, nice car, the vacation cottage, traveling the world.

It starts to go wrong when money starts to warp the political system in favor of the very wealthy and to the detriment of everyone else.
