5. Another Lesson In Heritage.....

34,834-that's the number of young men from Illinois who were killed in the Civil War because of the "heritage" that flag represents. That doesn't include the number who were wounded and maimed in the war. Every time some dimwit flies that flag you need to remember things like that.

The people I see most with big flags in DuPage are well to do young whites . They are Tea party central too for the Chicago area
When I have posted my dislike here southerners seem upset that I am stereotyping before even knowing what state I am talking about . These are far away from any heritage , and the area is quite wealthy. No stereotype just voicing disgust. Cowards too . Drive around white Republicsn areas but bet they would shit if dropped off on the city west side with their flag

7. Of Course That's What It Is...

why else would someone from Illinois or Ohio or Pennsylvania or NY or NJ (all places I've seen people flying the Confederate flag) be displaying it? I saw someone here in NJ flying the Confederate flag in my town on Memorial Day. Putting aside the racist overtones or the treasonous behavior it celebrates, do you understand how many people from your home town or from your home state died fighting the people who came up with that flag? Just take a look at how many men from the big populous northern states like Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York died or were wounded in the Civil War and tell me what heritage you're actually celebrating. (those 4 states alone account for over 125,000 casualties) I can almost understand someone from Mississippi or Alabama flying the flag. Someone from a northern state? Ignorance and hatred.
