This Ted Talk is based on empirical data from the World Bank and the UN. It is corroborated on over 200 peer-reviewed studies.
It indicates that among developed democracies, extreme WI (e.g. USA and UK) is harmful to people in all strata of society. Of course, poor people are especially harmed, but all of us pay a price for living in a society with heightened stress, which decreases quality of life, etc.
The evidence is in. In the Age of Reagan, WI has burgeoned. We need to get America back on the right track by decreasing wealth inequality. For everybody's sake.
