Trump draws medium-to-good-sized crowds wherever he goes. Who are these people? Many of us look at Trump as a buffoon, a carnival barker, a joke. But the people who are rooting for him take him seriously.
Just saying that theyre dumb hicks who are buying snake oil doesnt really explain who they are, or why theyre backing Trump. I dont claim to have all the answers, but here are a few thoughts on the subject:
O Some of them have been programmed by the GOP to hate Washington. Trump is not Washington.
O Some people cannot deal with complex concepts. Trump simplifies what he spouts.
O Many, many people are frightened by change. Easy answers tend to attract them.
O Every human being on Earth has prejudices. Trump plays to those of the GOP base.
O Trump is financially successful. Many believe that financially successful people are smarter than everyone else.
O Trump speaks with absolute certainty. Many are attracted to this and will believe whatever is said.
I've just taken a bit of time and reread my own list which tries to explain Trump backers. And after some reflection, I've reached a conclusion: Trump backers really are dumb hicks who are buying snake oil.
But that's my opinion. What's yours?

Actually, Fox is the "Republican Establishment" and they want to see Trump implode as quickly as possible.
However, even they can't control the direction of the ignorance that they've been building in the American public over more that a decade now.
Seems they've created a monster they can't control. Wait, isn't that from some book or movie?
