Republicans. Isn't it time to STOP them?

And NO I haven't run the numbers to ensure the below is accurate in terms of dollar amounts but suffice to say the Tealiban has cost the US a LOT of money with their bullshit and has done NOTHING for the masses.

Before we can, though, we must stop bickering among ourselves and go on the GOTV activism route. For some time, we've been skipping that, especially in mid-term elections. The result has been a takeover of Congress and state legislatures by Republicans, along with gerrymandering and voting rights losses.

If we are not able to break that cycle of not showing up for mid-term elections, the current disastrous obstructionism by the Republicans will simply continue.

Frankly, I'm not optimistic about this. It's depressing.

The various coalitions that form today's Republican Party are ruthless and mean-spirited,and will go to ANY extremes to hold onto power.

We Dems, on the other hand, believe in the ballot box, peaceful solutions and/or compromises. And we are facing opponents who want total "victory" and domination. Hell, they don't even believe in basic human civility.

As both Gandhi and MLK believed, the arc of history bends toward justice. But I'm not sure we're going to see that come about anytime soon.

So given their "No prisoners" attitude, and our "We've got to make the world a better place" dream, I'm really not sure what specific steps we can take to "stop them."

And for anyone who thinks we should adapt their tactics: If we emulate them, we become them.

the Republican base lives on those kind of sound bites. It's difficult for far too many of them to actually think. And that's not that we're superior to them. It just means we ask more questions. And we wait for answers. And wait, ...

The fact that they supported two illegal wars should be proof enough that they need to be thrown out.
