Oh dear,Trump threatening independent run for president.

The Continued Devolution of the GOP Primary from an Argument over Modes of Conservatism to a Omnidirectional Donald Trump Cage Match took its expected plot twist Thursday morning as celebrity plutocrat Donald Trump hinted to The Hill that he would consider a third-party run if the GOP doesn’t play nice.

“I’ll have to see how I’m being treated by the Republicans,” Trump said. “Absolutely, if they’re not fair, that would be a factor.”

Trump’s move seems fueled entirely by hostilities between him and the Republican field, hostilities mostly of his own creation.

“The RNC has not been supportive,” he said. “They were always supportive when I was a contributor. I was their fair-haired boy. The RNC has been, I think, very foolish.”

Running for president becomes work after a certain point. He'll bail long before then.

besides being an obnoxious blow hard, he does have policy issues that at least in his words, differ with the RNC (and the Democratic Party, for that matter) on trade - they want him out for that reason, among other things - plus, they correctly believe that while he has gravitas, it's bull in the china shop gravitas, that could needlessly wreak havok diplomatically

his threat is 'you take the nomination away from me, i take the general election away from you', which he may or may not carry out (I doubt it)

He didn't get picked for kickball so he's running off with the ball and throwing it in traffic. It's a good thing that his personality seems to tilt more on the side of his narcissism than his sociopathy or he'd probably have become the most horrific serial killer in US history.

just looking for attention.

But, honestly, I can't even imagine a way to get morons to go away.

If he's not the convincing case for election reform (funded by public money, only), then I don't know what is.

there are actually RWers who think he'd siphon votes from the Democrat. What Democrat in their right mind would vote for him of all people? How backwards are these people?
