Sandra Bland voicemail surfaces, from shortly before her death. Her last known words.

She doesn't sound suicidal to me.

While in Texas, Bland was staying with a friend, for whom she left a voicemail from jail shortly before she was found dead in her cell.

"Hey this is me," Bland says in the message. "I'm, um, I just was able to see the judge. I don't really know. They got me set at a $5,000 bond. I'm still just at a loss for words with this whole process, how switching lanes with no signal turned into all of this, I don't even know. But I'm still here, so, I guess call me back when you can."

ON EDIT:

This subsequent report says that the phone message was left on the 11th, whereas she died on the 13th.

The voicemail message lasted for about 22 seconds and was made after she had an initial court appearance in Texas following her July 10 arrest.

She said that she "able to see the judge" and her bail was set at $5,000 during the July 11 appearance.

This call was one of three that Bland made Saturday afternoon after she appeared in court, Waller County Judge Trey Duhon, told ABC News. Bland called the friend, her sister and a bail bondsman that afternoon, Duhon said.

And a newer report says the call was made two days before she was found dead. So whatever her situation was on the 13th, the call was made on the 11th.

her to commit suicide that soon.

What was the charge? There will be a transcript of her hearing. Was it serious enough to permit her to have a public defender? Did she contact an attorney?

she had seizures related to being deprived of her epilepsy prescription, Keppra -- or both. (As an epileptic she would have been even more susceptible to such an injury.

Also, being suddenly deprived of Keppra can lead to suicidal impulses, according to the manufacturer.

Since she was reported to have refused medical care (which I don't believe), I doubt that they were giving her her epilepsy med. So even if she did kill herself, it could have been the result of a sudden withdrawal from her prescription medication, Keppra.

and impersonal and not tell us much. But she was very articulate and vocal, so maybe she said something that will give us an idea of her psychological state at the time.
