HELP! Need Some DU "Test Market" Expertise on Explaining Gerrymandering to Young People

We are one of a dozen states trying to address the unfair districts after 2012 redistricting through a Non-Political Website Activist Group..

This Video Cartoon of "Gerrymandering" was done by a very creative guy who is working with our group to Educate College Age Voters about the 200 Year origins of Partisan District Gerrymandering.

Would this Short Video Description of Gerrymandering get the attention of Younger Voters (and, even, across the spectrum voters) so that they would be able to frame questions to candidates as to their position about Redistricting Reform in coming Elections? The Cartoon Video is to catch your attention and is followed by detailed article about Gerrymandering by State.

Thanks in Advance for Your Help!

Gerrymandering is the process of politicians choosing their voters instead of voters choosing them LonePirate Jul 2015 #2

Very Helpful for that perspective.

NYT: The Texas Gerrymander. Guy's still out of jail.

Remember the guy who had something to say about Rove and the rest of The Texans familiar with electronic vote rigging? His plane crashed.

The young voters might want to know more than what it is. A demonstration of how it's done would show how it defeats the wishes of the voters.
Maybe use apples and oranges, and give them away afterwards?

Governor Gerry would be proud of these examples from 6-7 different states that contribute to the GOP 'advantage " in the House.

Its a Good read to go through for those who are also afflicted with Gerrymandering.....

And, it's an issue that goes doesn't seem to be noticed by the DCC,DSC and DNC when we get our Mailings requesting for more DONATIONS!

Thanks!

Our Organization is trying to work to address this going wider than our Own State's Concerns.

Especially the part about needing more Dem votes to elect a Dem, than a repub need to elect a repub:

And.... "needing more Dem votes to elect a Dem, than a repub need to elect a repub: "

We are working on it to put in future columns on the newly designed Website. This is helpful going forward.

For instance...North Carolina who voted for Obama in 2008 Lost Four Democratic Seats in 2012 because of a Take Over of Republicans to our Legislature in 2010 (Census Year) because our Dem Party Ops ignored the Trends and the "50 State Strategy" that Howard Dean had put into place that got Obama Elected was OVER!

Lived through that terrible time.

We are working to PUSH BACK! That's what our organization is doing in focusing on the Gerrymandering and Early Voting and Voting Rights Restrictions. We just are trying to find ways to Engage our Young People we are working with so they can understand on the New Media what the history is...

Thank You! Good Reference.
