Virginia man finds $4,500 in box of chicken at Bojangles' restaurant

James Minor got the surprise of his life when he tried to get lunch at the fast food joint on Nine Mile Road in Henrico, Va., last Friday.

“I deserve respect — an apologetic letter from the Bojangles’ company and probably a cash reward,” Minor told a local news station still trying to wrap his mind around the events last Friday.

He said he had a hankering for some hot, crispy chicken, but he said the cold bird they gave him was a huge disappointment.

“I sent it back to the person who was working the window and I asked them to get some fresh chicken,” Minor said. When the counter worker handed him another bag, Minor found something crisp, alright: a container full of bills.

“When I opened the Bojangles’ chicken box, there was probably close to $4,500 in cash and also SunTrust deposit slips,” Minor said.
