It's late at night, so I hope the mods of this forum will indulge me. There's been too much strife here lately. Why don't you all chill out here on the banks of Eklutna Lake for a moment or two before returning to your respective battles. I did today, and it was wonderful.

(46,436 posts)if it's ok with the mods of GD. I'm going on a four-night Aurora-shooting and fall tundra photo excursion up in the Brooks Range the end of next month, so hope to bring back some pretty cool stuff.

(46,436 posts)Every season has its particular charm. May is usually sunny and warm, and later in the summer is often rainier, but this summer has been pretty great consistently. September and early October (or late August further north) are beautiful for fall colors and the weather is usually nice. If you're looking for auroras or skiing, other winter activities, of course you want to come in the winter. I like snow and cold, so I'm pretty happy year round.

(55,745 posts)It's like being there, Blue_In_AK! The water and mountains and clouds -- especially the ones that form around the peaks -- are like we are there, in a dream.
