I posted something that I read and saw on Facebook without checking into it further. Since the beginning of the altercation isn't filmed we have no idea what REALLY happened, therefore everything at this point is pure speculation.

I apologize if anyone was offended, that was NOT my intention at all!


Someone said that Mediatakeout.com is a right-wing site, but I will refute that by saying that the banner reads "The most visited Urban site in the world!" {emphasis mine} The content of the site seems to be about, and aimed for, our Black Brothers and Sisters. I am not a racist and do not condone racism at all. There was a time in my life, in my younger, dumber years that I was, but I was able to overcome that and change my way of thinking and my way of life. I can honestly say that I don't hate anyone because of their race, religion or sexual orientation. I *try* not to hate, period... but 2 things I despise, to the point of hating, is a pedophile and a rapist. If you can't understand that, I apologize...

The first step is the Peace within... Inner Peace... it took me a long time to get that. Once I did, the Peace between and Peace among came easily.

For the longest time, I think I was angry for just being born! I finally found Inner Peace by going out into the woods for a week, by myself, alone with my thoughts, and had plenty of time to reflect back on my life and what was fueling my anger. It was the best week I've ever spent anywhere! I came back with a new attitude and personality and let it take over and grow, making me the person I am today...

How long have you been here?? You should know that 99% of the news articles posted by members are copy & paste jobs, from the headline to the link...

I have found a few over the 9+ years that I've been here where someone changed a headline to fit their agenda, but that's not how I operate. I have also responded to an OP without reading the entire post before, and got snarked at because it had already been explained several times in the thread.

It's like when people post satire threads, without telling that it's satire, and people react to the initial OP without reading the rest of the replies where it's already been said 20 times that "this is satire!"

Thanks for telling me the link is broken, I will see if I can fix it. It might take a little while because I am getting ready to leave for a little bit... but I will do a quick search first just for you!

The reason why we can usually tell things are a quote of a headline is because you go to the article itself and you see that the headline was used to title the subject line here.

But not only was that link not accessible, so there was no way to read the title of what was there, so there was no way to know that the words didn't come from you.

A good chunk of GD posts with links are titled by the authors, many haven't simply used the title of the thing they're linking to.

But go ahead and lecture, if it's so clear then why do all these people think they are your words?

Go find the post where I agreed with someone that I should have used quotation marks in the title, as I normally do when I repost an article from somewhere else. It was late, I was tired, and just didn't notice that I had left out the quotation marks.

The reason the link was "broken" is because Facebook removed the video from the site.

I have to get up early in the morning and make a 120 mile round trip for a doctor's appointment. You have a nice rest of your evening, and a great day tomorrow, too.

it might be easier next time to put quotation marks in the headline, or state in the OP it's not your headline. Otherwise it DOES look like it's your headline... just as copying a paragraph without quote marks or an excerpt block makes it look like it's the poster's words. Not everyone has time to read through the comments to ascertain what could have been made clear right away.

I don't usually have to explain myself over and over, I said that I have seen plenty of other posts where it has been explained over and over that a post is satire when people just read the OP and post a knee-jerk reaction to it. I am guilty of having done that myself a few times, and *that's* the reason that *I* try to read a whole thread before posting a reply. Sometimes I'll see almost word for word what I was going to say, so instead of repeating it, I reply to *that* poster with a "+1000", "^^THIS^^" or "What you said".

7. As stated in the OP, "Posted without comment".... but here's my thoughts on it...

Back when I was younger, when someone was running their mouth or making threats that they were going to kick my ass, I'd tell them "well, you just sold the ticket, it's time to see the show!" I was a bouncer for several years, and could dole out some violence with extreme prejudice. I also told several people that "I usually get PAID to hurt people, but I'm gonna fuck you up just for the fun and the work-out". I *used* to be a very violent person, and it stemmed from the lifestyle I lived.

The way I see it is that this "macho" idiot sold a ticket by walking past a bunch of black guys waving his flag, probably thinking they would think he was SOOO tough for doing so that they wouldn't mess with him, that they would be afraid of him. He sold his ticket, got it punched, and the show wasn't what he expected... like bying a ticket to a movie thatlooked good in the previews, but sucked once you saw the whole thing.

It's the same thing as letting your alligator mouth overload your canary ass... you talk tough, but can't back it up when you get backed up behind the 8 ball. He sold his ticket.. and got what he deserved, IMNSHO.

Back in my younger, dumber days I was a member of a well known white supremacy group. That was a different lifetime ago. IF I am wrong, I will be more than glad to admit I was wrong. I have done so on here in the past, and feel no shame in admitting when I am wrong.

Most of the newer, younger members don't have tattoos now, since they passed the hate crimes laws in the 80's. If you were white and attacked a minority, if you had ANY kind of AB or Aryan Nations tattoos, they could prosecute under the hate crimes laws and add extra years to your sentence.

I tried to pause the video to check his boot laces, but it was too far away. Red laces interwoven with black means that you have spilled blood for the "Cause".

Let's just agree to disagree right now, but keep an eye on the news for retaliations in upcoming weeks. The AB *always* strikes back, but sometimes they wait and let things die down first, until it's about forgotten, then they'll hit back, even if it's one person at a time.

911 calls describe terror caused by mob rampage in Charleston


As many as 60 teens were roaming Charleston streets attacking pedestrians and drivers early Sunday, witnesses told police dispatchers in 911 calls released Tuesday.

All the teens were black, according to witnesses, and all but one of the people attacked were white. Still, it’s unclear if the attacks were racially motivated or sparked by the unrest in Baltimore, which followed the recent shooting death of Walter Scott, a black man, by a white North Charleston police officer.

Investigators haven’t yet determined a motive, according to Charleston Police Department spokesman Charles Francis.

James Johnson, who was at the forefront of local protests after Scott’s shooting death, said he had not heard any explanation for the teens’ behavior.

“The Walter Scott incident is fresh in their minds, and then there’s Baltimore,” he said. “But there’s no telling. It could be just spur of the moment. I’m hoping we can find out. Whatever it is, we’ve got to go to the root of the problem so it doesn’t happen again.”

The teens came out of a party at the YWCA on Coming Street about 12:30 a.m. and hit the streets. Groups not associated with the YWCA rent the facility.

The motto of the YWCA is “Empowering Women and Eliminating Racism.” The organization sponsors the annual local celebration of Martin Luther King Jr., who preached nonviolence.

Garcia Williams, the YWCA’s director, did not return several messages asking if she had learned anything about why the teens broke out in violence after the party or who organized the event. Dot Scott, the leader of the Charleston chapter of the NAACP, said she had not heard anything to explain why the teens went on a rampage but was shocked by it.

“I have no idea whatsoever,” she said. “It just seems unusual that folks would attack people that way. It’s atypical.”
