Thanks, Octafish, for being a real and measurable part of what's made DU great for almost 15 years. You are and always have been tireless in your efforts to educate us all about the machinations of the Bush crime family, the BFEE (still a great acronym, despite what anyone else may think).
You've always stayed strong and adhered to your principles. You've always been HONEST, and you've always been a stalwart liberal, at least in the 14 years I've followed your posts. I have a real appreciation for your consistency, and an appreciation for you fighting the good fight.
I raise a glass to you, Octafish. Thanks for doing what you do.

(41,871 posts)As she said, she has to chew them very hard, to get them down. Secondly, I have never done this but, I love Sashimi squid and Octopus... and that is virtually raw, but cut up in bite sized pieces. Dipped in a special soy sauce its delicious.
Or if you prefer, cooked and breaded, like onion rings...Calamari is the same thing. Bon Appetite!

(65,616 posts)Yeah that was a joke about the wiggling part. I don't think I could eat something that fell on the table and starts to flee. Make mine well done, anything.

Keep up the great work, and a shot of Chinaco to you!

(6,834 posts)Thanks for the mention. A few times my email to Bartcop made it on to his site and I was deeply honored and moved by that. Bartcop was a companion to DU for my internetting and it's nice to think of that wonderful site that, like DU, helped me cope with the dark ages of the GW Bush lost decade.

Thank you, sir, from the bottom if my heart.
I think of Octafish, California Peggy and Salmon Chanted Evening as the core of this place albeit for different reasons. They are the best DU has to offer and are the main reasons why I came back after a year's unannounced absence due to abuse from The Usual Suspects.

(66 posts)Have you seen this video? It vindicates Octafish and other here who seek the truth behind the veil of secrecy and lies we are all constantly exposed to by our own government.
The Best Enemies Money Can Buy - Dr. Antony Sutton of the Hoover Institute
Interview recorded in the 1960's with Professor Antony Sutton, who taught economics at California State University, and was a research fellow at Stanford University's Hoover Institution.
In this talk, Prof. Sutton goes into his impeccable research on how a close-knit group of Western financiers and industrialists (centered around Morgan and Rockefeller in the US, and around Milner and the City financiers, in the UK) created and sustained Nazi Germany through the German company IG Farben.
Parts 1-6 are also fascinating.

(81,594 posts)I glanced at this quickly at first and thought the first sentence read "Thanks, Octafish, for being a real and miserable part of what's made DU great for almost 15 years."
D'OH!!!
Criminy... been a long day. Must have been that Donald Trump Zoo crowding things up not far from here earlier this evening. Teabaggers with bulging bellies and American flags and TRUMP YES, BUSH NO! signs on one side of the street, young students and Latinos with their NO TRUMP signs on the other side of the street, cops all over the place in patrol cars and motorcycles, parked on both sides, on foot patrol, clustered on their bikes in the center divider painted in the middle of the street, and a line of TV remote trucks with their antennae extended up all the way - that extended all the way down the block. NUTS! When I was a reporter, we used to call such things "pig-fucks"! And all of it, mind you, during the usual stupid Friday evening rush-hour(s) traffic (which is utterly MONSTROUS here even on a good day). Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right...
Love you Octafish - you deserve the appreciation!

(6,834 posts)Octafish is little known real history and facts presented in a cogent, organized and well documented real history of the corrupt animals that seem to make up most of our government in the last three or four decades.
I think he jeopardizes his well being because the PTB's probably aren't pleased with his ability to show they are not wearing any clothes, and also expose their multiple crimes those of us in the bottom 99% would be jailed for.
I think his work is ripples on a pond that are leading to a current growing awareness our government is corrupt beyond comprehension, and stupid besides.
Plus he is thoughtful enough to answer a few of my DU emails over the years.
