Harvard after only 2 semesters. He told them to get back into Vietnam (and to quit drinking wine and convert to Church of LDS). July of 1966 through Feb of 1969 -- the height of the war. He comes back to the USA only after Nixon takes office and his father gets a job in the Nixon administration.
