The batcrazy gal is at it again...
Schlafly said North Carolina's vote Tuesday to ban gay marriage showed where the country is on the issue but worried about the future. She blamed the public education system for shifting public values.
"I think the passage of the [North Carolina] constitutional amendment is a good indication of where the country is right now, but the gay lobby has taken over the public schools, they have inserted their propaganda very much in the schools and we do see the evidence of that," she said. "I'm worried about what kind of mischief they're teaching in the schools. It isn't just the gays, it's some other groups. The schools are a real threat to the future of our country."

(2,419 posts)you should meet her son Andrew. He's the head of the local Christian Home School Association. He's busy training the next generation of "Christian Soldiers" to take back the country and return us to the roots intended by the founding fathers. (presumably including the 3/5ths of a person part & women don't get to vote) The local high school just isn't academically rigorous enough and just too darn liberal for him & his sycophants. I've had conversations with him that are some of the funniest and, at the same time, some of scariest I have ever had. The nut doesn't fall far from the tree.

(10,103 posts)Since she has once again ridden on to the national scene, I would like to point out that she believes that she should be the exception to all the things she espouses. She has been well-educated, and she has had home help raising her children from the beginning.
She doesn't understand that the things she espouses would apply to all women, rich and poor, black and white, intelligent and not intelligent. We aren't that far removed from the time when there was no birth control, and only a few women could get abortions...and did. We aren't far from the time when twelve children was not that odd, and four to six was normal.
We don't need to go back. The earth won't support us, especially with our use of water. It's not possible.
Schlafly was a dinosaur in the sixties; she's a fossil now.
