This map is showing which counties cast the most votes against amendment one than in favor for it and notes the percentage of people 25 or older who have completed a bachelor's degree.

1. When you look at that map you understand why republicans want to de-fund education

2. I would guess that it was the rural voters that got the

thing passed. In NC, that usually means the less educated and strongest religious based.

4. Actually, one county is incorrect. It was Dare County--Outer Banks--that barely rejected

the Amendment, not New Hanover County as indicated on this map.
