Jonah Goldberg drops false claim of two Pulitzer nominations

Source: MSNBC

On the dust jacket of his new book, "The Tyranny of Clichés: How Liberals Cheat in the War of Ideas," best-selling conservative author and commentator Jonah Goldberg is described as having "twice been nominated for a Pulitzer Prize."

In fact, as Goldberg acknowledged on Tuesday, he has never been a Pulitzer nominee, but merely one of thousands of entrants.

When this bit of résumé inflation was pointed out by a reporter for msnbc.com, Goldberg said he hadn't meant to mislead anyone and removed the Pulitzer claim from his bio at National Review Online. And he added, "I never put it in the bio in the first place."

His publisher, Penguin Group (USA), said the error was unintentional and it would remove the Pulitzer word from his book jacket when it's time for the first reprint, "just like any other innocent mistake brought to our attention."

What bullshit! I used to write those dust jacket blurbs and they were scanned by the authors, the editors, the marketing managers, etc. He made it up and it was in his bio online. That makes Jonah a LIAR!

So whoever put it on the NRO website started it and the book publisher copied it without verifying.

Goldberg said he hadn't meant to mislead anyone and removed the Pulitzer claim from his bio at National Review Online. And he added, "I never put it in the bio in the first place."

Mama's Boy displays his utter incompetence, yet again. There were entire threads on CSPAN's website in the past detailing his misstatements and those he repeated even when it was reported in the press he was wrong.

If his mom hadn't been in the publishing business, this guy would have ended up homeless or an armed felon.

Of all the guest ever on the show, he was the most pathetic. Am I surprised he doesn't even write his own Bio? No. There is nothing in the man that makes me think he would be able to complete such a task as writing a clear and accurate blurb on himself.

Hmmmm, okay, "twice nominated for a Pulitzer Prize." Yeah, hard to see how that could have slipped by anyone with two working brain cells, which sort of explains how it got there. Okay, let's substitute this: "popularly known as the Doughy Pantload."

Fickst.
