Forgot to say that I was working as an intern in Ed Medvinski's office. He was on the committee.

and I spent it in my mother in law's recliner with the heater and vibrator on my back watching the hearings. She was very sweet to me considering she was a Nixon voter! lol

I had just finished my freshman year in college.
That was the first time, I think, that people were glued to the TV watching a legal drama.
The first politician I ever heard my mother gripe about was a guy who had four names:
"That Bastard Richard Nixon".

Her editorial comments, "He smeared Helen Gahagan Douglas when he ran against her in Congress. She was Melvyn Douglas' wife and very talented" (I have her autobiography, A Good Life. Amazing lady.)

"He was one of that bastard Joe McCarthy's buddies."

Dad's comment about Nixon: "Would you buy a used Cadillac from this man?"

Yes, Barbara Jordan explained the Constitution to us. She should have been a Supreme Court Justice.
