Watching Senator Lugar concede.

Mixed emotions. Rather bothered at how large the margin was for crazy Mourdock - that the concession speech was offered so early. Four years ago in November, I was amazed to watch this state go Blue for Obama. Now I witness the results of the combination of how far right the republicans in my state have moved and how effective a huge and sustained media buy by a SuperPac can work to the point where it feels like outside, very wealthy folks, have effectively bought an election. I only watch local stations (no cable) - and have seen about 20:1 ads by Superpacs against Lugar vs any Lugar ads.

This may open a small door to the possibility of a dem. win - but I rather doubt it. One more far right crazy republican in the senate is my prediction. And one more sign of how the politicized Supreme Court (whose ruling accelerated the ability of the wealthy to shape elections) makes me fear for the future of our country.

Look at the good, it went from certainty, to uncertainty.
