There's a piece on the front page entitled "Mitt Romney: 'I'll Take A Lot Of Credit' For Auto Industry Recovery".
Interesting to speculate what else he might like to take a lot of credit for...
Say, maybe, the success of the Marshall Plan post WWII?
OK, sure, he was only 2 or 3 years old at the time, but with his precocious skills, who knows?
And then, how about domestic programs like the interstate highway system? Let's see, he would've been what, 8 or 10 years old?
But, surely nothing was beyond the budding intellect of this child prodigy.
DUers, what do you think? What else might Willard deserve "a lot of credit for"?

(15,445 posts)It's a given that his character and world view have been shaped by the Mormon cult/faith.
The voting public has a right to know about his fundamental beliefs, if he is to be taken seriously as our potential leader.
The intrepid media certainly put Obama through the wringer for his connections with Pastor Wright.
So, where's the probing look at Willard's religious affiliations?

(30,404 posts)I am in no way against Freedom of Religion.
I happen to be a Christian.
I just don't know what his faith directs him to do.
Would they approve of a person putting their dog on a car?
Would they approve of not caring one bit about following some basic rules like not letting the citizens know what your tax returns reveal when you are running for President?
Do they allow you to not give a damn about the poor?
As an aside --- I wonder what his " hired help" has to say about him. I forgot, they are probably all of his faith ( that is not a problem at all for me) and they have probably taken a vow to not speak to anyone about his family.
Wonder if he pays them minimum wages or do they work for free.
Edit to add: I just saw an interesting reply in the Religious Forum.
This is a link to it.

(15,445 posts)We do have a right to know about the basic tenants of Mormonism.
Not only was Willard born into the cult, but he rose to as high a position as possible within it.
How does the basic belief system of the Mormon church inform this man's character and values?
I also believe "Freedom of Religion" to be one of our most cherished rights.
But, as the voting public, we also have the right to know just what the core values of his very particular "religion" really are.
(What about the morality of hiring illegals until you're caught out, because you're running for office...is that a Mormon value?)

(9,002 posts)I'm more concerned about them baptizing people who are still alive. More so for the ones who don't give consent.

(3,450 posts)I will suggest that dems not allow him to walk this false assertion back in any way. This should seriously and mockingly be tried around his neck like the rePIGs mockingly and false tied the assertion of the "invention of internet" on Al Gore. The Mittman should continually derided for this claim till he screams his retraction.

Quite a contrast with the meme of recent days: "Obama spiked the football about getting OBL."
By god, the MSM is doing their damndest to keep Willard in the race.
You're right, mazz, this needs to be hung around his neck like a big freaking albatross.

The New Deal? I had no idea, but I begin to see the strategic brilliance of it.
He shrewdly crafted it solely to have a "socialist" bogeyman to attack and dismantle later! Worthy of Machiavelli!

(21,925 posts)Like Bond, he has to keep money in offshore accounts. Typically of Bond, he's constantly on the move and has many addresses. He has the same hairstyle as when he was younger and his secret code name was Pierce Brosnan instead of Mitt Romney. He has that famous Bond dry wit, savoir faire, and charisma and what's more, all women love him. Of course when he's not saving the world, he has to assume the identity of Mitt Romney, the polar opposite of Bond, kind of like Superman and Clark Kent.
Here's a picture from several years ago showing Mitt Romney in action.

He's even clever enough to mask his clipped British accent with that low-key, flat, boring voice he uses on the political stump.
All the better to keep his enemies guessing!
