Rachel seems to think it's going to go through even with Senators Warren and Sanders fighting the good fight. Hope we all end up surprised in a good way and see it get voted down instead.

Then it will be difficult if not H*ll to stop it, real major threat. All we can do is see how things go. It's very encouraging how much Dem. leaders have spoken out against it recently and more people are becoming aware of this monster! ~ I'm a Lynn and a Liberal too-

a big chunk of cash, which I don't actually have available, that the network won't post it for online watchers just like the last several very important interviews Rachel has done with Sen. Warren, Sen. Sanders and others. They really suck anymore. I am quickly losing the ability to watch much news at all from both TeeVee/online access and have not had radio access on an actual radio for the last six weeks... the one mediocre NPR station I have listened to for about 25 years has stopped servicing my area. I can stream radio online but then I can't do much else online while that's running due to slow DSL.

I am thankful for the links everyone here posts so I can see and hear what's going on out there.

Thank you DU!! I have to wait until 9:30 at least to see if they even post it, often I have to wait until the day after and even then it's up online but I can't see it unless I pay for it. The gatekeepers have closed the gate for many of us poor folks out here. Please keep that in mind.

if the segments are available on YouTube later I guess. Few realize how fractured media is in this country and how limited the choices are in many places. The 5-6 giant RW corporate Media Monopolies that control 90% of all TV, Radio, Newspapers and publishing in the US need to be broken up! (like the TBTF Banks).

And we need alternative, independent, and accessible Media, I call TPM- The People's Media to give us the truth somehow God knows. Even PBS and NPR are under more corporate funding and influence although there's still some good programming.

The Big 5 Media Conglomerates, (I think):

COMCAST (NBC, MSNBC); DISNEY (ABC); VIACOM (CBS); TIME WARNER (CNN, HBO), NEWS CORP (FOX).

on YouToob yet. One was posted here a couple days ago and I was bale to watch it but it wasn't the interview I was looking for. Some NPR stations carry some really good programming, the one I had listened to was mediocre at best and then they had church on all day Sunday with news broadcast on at 6-7am on Sunday and then they also had church on Tuesdays and church special events that could last the entire weekend several times a year and there would be no news at all then. What I miss besides the news is classical music programs, I can't be online all day for that.

The big media mogul screws are tightening since they seem to think we know too much.

the help you both offer. It was, until recently, not very difficult to get the info I find pertinent to my participation as a citizen but things have changed, drastically, in the past couple months and I'm not liking it or taking it quietly.

Just like with these secret trade deals, how can a citizen participate and make informed decisions without information?

I remember waaaaay back when I was in grad school and less than a year to graduation and going into my new found career path when the SCOTUS picked us a pResident. I looked at all the faculty and other grad students at a holiday gathering, which is where I was when the news came out, and said, "Mark my words, we will be in a war in the middle east within 18 months and democracy as we know it will be slipping away like the pierced yolk of an egg." And that was in the polisci dept. They all looked shocked and several got what I was saying, some were in denial. It turned out to be worse than even I suspected. I graduated 30 days before 9/11 happened and have been struggling ever since.

So I feel a fundamental need to stay informed while I do my best to keep a roof over my head working for <10% of what I should be making at this point in my life. I don't expect things to improve during my lifetime but I do want to know when it's best to go take that long, one-way stroll out into the woods.

good people and groups working for the people's welfare. For NEWS, I find progressive radio-TV host Thom Hartmann about the best for me, his knowledge, scope and ability to interpret and communicate what's going on. He is independent, progressive and the programs he produces are supported by viewers and donors not corporations.

He has a daily program, *'THE THOM HARTMANN PROGRAM', 12-3 PM, ET that is carried on FSTV (Free Speech TV Channel) on satellite Dish and Direct TV, and on some cable and radio outlets. Maybe you are familiar with him and his prolific work.

On the daily program he has many guests and discussions involving politics, consumer affairs, health, the environment and climate change. He also takes *calls, live from listeners and viewers around the US and world. Hearing the CALLERS viewpoints and questions is very interesting.

In the 5 years I've listened to him and read his books my knowledge has increased tremendously. Segments and clips of his two programs are also noted on his website, thomhartmann.com, at freespeech.org and on *YouTube. Just google YouTube and Thom Hartmann and there will be many video options.

http://www.thomhartmann.com/youtube/thom

Thom also does an evening program, one hour long, M-F, called *'THE BIG PICTURE'. Often video clips of the evening program are posted here under the multimedia section. The evening program is excellent, it's one hour offered at 7 PM ET, and 9 PM ET on *RT, the 'Russia Today America' channel. It's also shown nightly on FSTV on Dish, Direct and some other carriers.

If you don't have Dish or Direct TV service, his daily 3-hour program, 'The Thom Hartmann Program' can be watched LIVE ONLINE at, freespeech.org:

**LIVE PROGRAM NOW, 2 PM, ET at, https://www.freespeech.org/

I normally watch on Dish TV but am viewing it on the computer now, LIVE. Take care!

I am aware of Thom Hartman and watched a great video the other night, posted here, where he was speaking about his new book that everyone should read about the next economic crash coming up soon.

I don't have a TeeVee, since 1980, and couldn't afford one if I did have one as in my area the only place you can get news - or anything - on such a device is via satellite dish which is expensive, it's bad enough keeping up with my $50/month for slow internet that I have to share with my neighbor to keep it on. Most of the time I watch streaming or videos, it takes twice as long due to continuous buffering and such that stops the action every ten to fifteen words. Very frustrating and takes a lot of patience to keep up with what they are saying. I can get radio via streaming when my neighbor isn't online too. I like radio because I can do other things while listening, otherwise I have to sit here for hours while I should be doing chores and other important stuff.

Lately I have been dealing with insomnia due to residual affects of being bitten by a poisonous spider. Was bitten many years ago by a hobo spider, messed me up for months, now whenever I am bitten by anything, it all flares up and does bad things to me but it has given me time to be online more this past week.

I go to work in about a week and won't have time to pay attention without radio so I'm at a major disadvantage for the summer. But my neighbor will have the internet unhindered by my using it too.

Thanks for the links, I will be using them.
