Clearing caches does help.. What browser are you using?

Actually, there are some anti virus programs that will do it for you.

It's one of the most common problems users face.
I clear out at least maybe once a week, but not too often as I have my browser settings to clear the cache every time it loads the page.
IE does a terrible job of doing that.
