dying on the same day, someone is gonna get short changed.

When these two people die, both being about as bad as a human being can be, they deserve much attention as to their crimes and the disgusting people they were.

40. Cheney doesn't care what Democrats think of him, only how he will be remembered by the Republicans.
Tue Apr 14, 2015, 02:19 AM
Apr 2015

Dick wants to be remembered the way Reagan was remembered by the Republican party.
He wants to be admired and adored the way Reagan was admired and adored by the members of the GOP party.
Cheney wants to "out-Reagan" Reagan by expressing even more outrageous extremist rightwing views than Reagan believed in.

Cheney wants to be remembered as the biggest, baddest, toughest talking, hip swaggering, rough and ready tough guy the Republicans have had in their party for the last 40 years.

Dick started his career in Nixon's administration, but he was just a little pecker in Nixon's administration back in those days.
He gained more power and became a bigger dick while working in Ford's administration.
He became an even bigger dick in Congress implementing trickle-down economic policies during Reagan's administration.
He became a total prick later on when he was tapped to work for George H.W. Bush in his administration.
And still later, he achieved total dickhead awareness in Dubya Bush's administration.

Cheney is unique amongst Republicans, he is the only Republican to have worked for, and with, the last 5 Republican Presidents.
He wants to be honored by his party for it.
He wants to become a hero figure to his party.
He wants to be beloved by his party's members.

However, history is not going to be kind to Dick.
In less than 10 short years, history will turn on Cheney with the vengeance of a junkyard dog, who has been starved, kicked, and taunted by his master, when the rope restraining him suddenly, and unexpectedly, snaps in two.

With Tweety muttering 'Bad form' like a frat brat, with the card with Bush's face on it, and the hearty last part of the chorus at the end.

Bush came into office to jeers and tomatoes tossed at his motorcade, having to stop several times, usurper that he was, and the MIC MSM wailing how ill mannered the crowd was. I remember the snipers on the buildings, and how the little dunce wore a bullet proof vest.

Meanwhile, at home all we could do was scream at the television. It was a disgrace that he was put in office and he left in disgrace. Darth needs to go lurk in his undisclosed location.

But the MIC MSM loves him too much to kick him off the air and they love McCain, et al., too.

...and the home health aides were there to bathe him and change out the oxygen bottles, but everything stopped so all of us who were there could watch this wondrous historic occasion. Amidst our sadness, there was such a feeling of happiness about Obama -- and in my case, absolute joy at being rid of BushCheney.

The next day I flew home, but made sure to cruise the airport news stands to pick up a variety of papers from around the country.

I don't remember reading about this episode much less hearing it on the tv machine. It's very cool!

I'd unplugged after watching Palin's klan rallies down south. I was freaked out, bad memories. I stopped watching the campaign on television. And I didn't even watch the returns, I couldn't bear it. The thought of the Palin klan (not clan) being in the White House was terrifying.

I couldn't believe what I wanted would come true. Until a friend begged me to hook it up. I did see the returns, but only after it was decided that night, and I cried for three days straight.

Then I turned the cable off again and only turned it on for the inauguration. Mainly, though, I saw it all through youtube. That was before I joined DU. I'd been posting elsewhere since the last months of 2000.

I saw on TV what was done in Florida and in D.C. with the church buses of people yelling profanities during the night at the VP mansion in 2000. They kept yelling 'Get out of Cheney's house!' All I could think was 'brownshirts.' I couldn't believe it in the end.

It looks like as bad a time as you were having, you escaped some bad stuff in these campaigns. It's been a nightmare the last few decades, hasn't it?

Obama has been such a good president. We were happy there for a while after the election, cautiously optismistic. I'm glad you had that special moment there with everyone. I was alone.

And I still worry about 2016.

Mon Apr 13, 2015, 11:49 PM

"Nobody ever stopped him in the street to say, with gladsome looks, 'My dear Scrooge, how are you? When will you come to see me?' No beggars implored him to bestow a trifle, no children asked him what it was o'clock, no man or woman ever once in all his life inquired the way to such and such a place of Scrooge. Even the blindmen's dogs appeared to know him, and when they saw him coming on, would tug their owners into doorways and up courts, and then would wag their tails as though they said, 'No eye at all is better than an evil eye, dark master!'"

There are no words to describe my total disgust for that beastly individual. Yeah. And you couldn't get yer little pal scooter a free pardon, either, could ya, Darth? Mission NOT accomplished there. You sure did a number on the rest of us - and the world.

Hugo Chavez was right, I'll bet. He once spoke after dubya at the UN, I think it was, and quipped that bush's departure from the lectern left a whiff of sulfur behind. I think we'll smell that across America when dick goes, DOWN, for the last time. He's on borrowed time as is.
