They always show the enormous crowds for Obama.
I can't recall seeing a crowd making much - if any cheers for Romney and Company.
Sometimes I hear a few Boo's when the name OBAMA is mentioned but that is it.
How many times have you seen the camera focus an interview with someone that attends a Rethug rally?
Just wondering if I'm missing something

(27,461 posts)check out this video from where he was heckled, it seems the heckler was the only person there, and she was off in the distance. And like you say, the cameras oddly dont give any perspective

If that had been someone in the Obama crowd, the camera would be all over it and it would probably be a " Breaking News" Issue for the next ten days.

(30,404 posts)and I bet they are paid to show up.
Even if they did get paid ~ there is no " Action Jackson"
from the crowd.
Remember during the Rethug Debates ~ not many people for the Camera.
Can't remember any interviews, just tightinshots ~ I bet the Rethugs pay the camera men/women BIG BUCKS under the table for the close in shots.
You are right about the "CASH Brothers and their $$$$$$ Friends,
Guess they feel that the Attack Ads bring more for their Bucks than having to give money to " Tea Bag Poor people."

(674 posts)Even before he was elected, and certainly after, not only are they larger crowds than I remember ever seeing for any politician, the crowds always look so rapt with attention and admiration. It makes it inconceivable to me that President Obama could not be reelected, and by a landslide at that.
Republican appearances always look like a dark affair, solemn and uninspired.

(30,404 posts)Maybe that's why he didn't book any events this weekend.
My crystal ball tells me that he can never get back on track~ this weekend or any weekend.
Wonder how much his father had to donate to Harvard for his enrollment.
I can't believe I'm saying this but BUSH JR. probably had an IQ of - 10 but he was not as bad as Mitt IMO. BUSH JR. was a puppet and Rove and Cheney pulled his strings.
RMoney appears to be sober but he has zero People Skills and as far as I can see, there is no one that can pull his strings.

(30,404 posts)Did you see Mitt today (Tuesday) in his Home State of Michigan?
Issue is still my concern-- They take only close up shots of Rethugs
I think they must have held " The Big Speech" in a jr. high auditorium because they did one shot of the "audience" -- quick like a fox.
It looked to me like 500/600 "paid to be there by their Boss people."
They all said "boo" at the same time. A director must have been coaching them.

(154,021 posts)at UCSD. My local Channel ten said "hundreds attend Ron Paul Rally."
Oh they showed a tight shot with about 1500... LOLZ all around.
The media is playing a dangerous game... IMO.
Yup, I covered the fact that there were thousands at the event. and yes, even some counter protesters.
As to Romney... they are NOT getting the crowds. There is one photo of three months ago showing the arena they rented, mostly empty, those present were the media.

If that had been President Obama we would have seen it 1000 times by now.

(154,021 posts)there are only hundreds, when we are talking thousands.
Media is funny. If you are a trouble maker, or a challenge to the status quo... occupy, Ron Paul, Edwards, Dean... doesn't matter, distortion is kind of the order of the day... it dawned on me last night. The RP campaign has been rightfully complaining of this, particularly with the national media.
Occupy has been rightfully complaining.
We saw it with the Dean Scream, and Edwards minimizing after he won a couple primaries.
Hell, we saw it here... that empty arena... that photo, went like this... a flash.
At some point we all need to ask, WTF is going on?

(30,404 posts)Just saw the post about the President and his lovely wife with smiles and cameras flashing and clicking at the rally today -- SATURDAY.
Young people filled with energy and Hope.
I'm trying to recall Romney speaking to a group of young adults.
Don't think they would care one bit what he would say to them.
IMO, He is lost in the 50's.

This morning a friend sent me this email:
..... just saw President Obama speak in Ohio at the first rally of the 2012 campaign. And, man, was he fired up!
He reminded me, the crowd, and everyone else tuning in what this campaign is all about.

(50,326 posts)Mitt gets captive audiences when he interrupts people having lunch at the diner and he gets the fat cat crowd who pay to be in the crowd because they want to be sure they pay no taxes and have no regulations. Most people, when given a choice between going to a Mitt event and watching paint dry will opt for paint.

(10,893 posts)but Paul always, for whatever reason, manages to draw pretty large crowds despite being irrelevant in the race. Usually what I see at Willard Romney rallies is older people who look well-off, and his crowds are never ethnically diverse. But interestingly, I never see very many women at rallies for Ron Paul. It's always mostly young guys, around my age.

Thanks for sharing the photo ~ That's what is going on and yet there is little mention of the attendance numbers or even the slightest camera views.
Doesn't seem to bother MSM in the least.
