Here's a quote from 1850 about what's happening today....
When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men living together in society, they create for themselves in the course of time a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it.
Frederic Bastiat - 1850

5. ^^YEP^^ It's a new situation for the human race as a whole (not
so new for local populations in the past -- Easter Island, etc.). Thanks to rich folks and their sycophants (both D and R and no affiliation), the people themselves have no way to extricate ourselves. There's no place to run, and no discernible way to stop them -- they don't even live here. They can't be shot or hanged or guillotined, they can't be bankrupted. Now what?

3. Thanks for posting this.
Recall the late Senator Hubert Humphrey using this reference during his Primary Election campaign in 1961. How true it is and relative to what we see today. Justification of Greed!!!!

6. This classic quote from John Kenneth Galbraith
sums it all up:
"The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness." |
