what a difference between the general population who don't suffer socially acceptable discrimination and those that do suffer socially acceptable discrimination.

Same period for Blacks, unemployment ran from 11%-28%, and 5%-20% for Latinos.

scrutinized and monitored, so they can't sneak around and hide medical issues like the pilot in Germany did.

It is a no brainer, these kind of strict monitoring procedures should be in place, and if you don't want to be subject to this kind of scrutiny, then don't seek jobs like airline pilot or others involving large numbers of people and public safety.

We do know that he may have had vision problems. Vision problems would disqualify him from being a pilot. The vision problem was not picked up in in summer physical evaluation.

We know that he was stressed, and we know that he had sleeping issues.

That's all we know.

If stress and sleeping issues disqualify folks from employment, then the vast majority of us will be heading towards the unemployment line.

Oh, and we know that he had anti-depressants in him home. We don't know what kind, if he took any, or why they were prescribed. Anti-depressants are prescribed sometimes, for stress and sleeping issues.

Edit to add: This guy was a self-absorbed bastard who took the lives of 149 others with him.

If all people taking anti-depressants are deemed as unsuitable for work, well than roughly half the nation's workforce will soon be unemployable. Then we'll be sad because we lost our jobs, and we will kill everybody else off.

It's all speculation at this point.

We know he took a leave of absence during his training a few years ago allegedly due to stress, and exhaustion. There are rumors that he had vision problems, and they allegedly found anti-depressants in his flat. That's all we know.

I can only imagine. For the first 15 years. "It's all in your head." With a few more symptoms. "It must be writers cramp."
