Were there any federal laws in regards to a state official using a private email server. Seems to me to be an issue at the state level for them to deal with this.

and the massive fraud related to the 2000 election, as well as Cynthia Henderson. It's all right here on DU, some of the best detective work on the planet, the most comprehensive investigation that could possibly take place, by the people and for the people.

Go ahead, just use the search box at the top right, and search the DU site, it's all here in the archives, well documented, every word.

Executive Action extended by Shrub. Oh, and Shrub's records are also sealed. Wonder what happened in Cheney's meetings with Big Oil Execs? Or even who participated? Sorry, still sealed. Wonder what the 9-11 commission concluded about Saudi involvement? Sorry, still sealed. You don't need to know.

And by the way, remaining JFK Assassination records are sealed (under LBJ Executive Order) until 2038.

Don't you think they have all emails and recorded phone conversations dating from around 2000 onward? I'm sure they've tapped the supposedly secret executive, judicial, and legislative branches. Shite, even RMN knew how to do that.

So, perhaps asking nicely - Geez folks in Ft. Meade, could you please make me a podcast of Cheney's discussions with the oil barons? Or, could you resurrect all communications that involved fiddling with the 2000 election; or perhaps Hillary's appointments with her hair dressers?

We're paying enough for this backup service. Let's try to recover some of our data!

15. Great post! But it was the Joint Inquiry.

Mar 2015

The 9/11 Commission co-chairman said they "Found No Evidence of the involvement of the Saudi government in the Plot" (at 7 minutes into the youtube clip)-- it was a whole chapter of the 2002 Joint Inquiry ("into Intelligence Community Activities", cough) that bUsh sealed in a sweaty panic. Before the smoke from that coverup was dissipated, massive public pressure had forced the 9/11 Commission into existence. Its executive director Zelikow wrote the outline to what the report would say before the commission was barely seated. Then somebody beat up and tortured some terrists and made 'em swear that if called to testify that they would admit to doing 9/11 and that the Saudis had nuthin to do with it. Then after the 9/11 Commission made repeated requests to at least see the secret interrogation tapes, somebody lost the tapes. Then Zelikow fired a staffer who tried to get the classified chapter of the Joint Inquiry. Then a bunch of other shady stuff, after all of which the 9/11 Commission found no evidence. This is why we must move forward from Jeb's emails to Hillary's!

...damn right, people should contact him. Jam his email and phones demanding he investigate real crimes instead of this bogus bullshit he's using to raise money on the taxpayer dime.

But don't blame me if you can't find the time or interest to shove his bullshit back into his face and put Jeb in his place, as well. Maybe you were thinking of making a 'serious' inquiry into his bogus committee effort - or considering a thoughtful response to his effort to hang this Democrat up in a bullshit fishing expedition, despite the fact that he can't lift a finger to address the republican corruption under his own nose?

'Serious' request of Gowdy? How about he 'seriously' shove his investigation up his narrow ass?

He couldn't, even if he wanted to, because Congress has no jurisdiction over governors. Like it or not, they do have oversight authority over some federal entities.

I'm not blaming you for anything, but neither am I going to waste my time demanding that someone do something they have no legal authority to do. If you choose to your time that way, have at it - no skin off my nose.

...this is about politics - down and dirty politics - and most folks here can't find the time or interest to involve themselves with confronting republicans; more than they're obsessed with railing against members of our own party.

Here's a republican committee chairman staging a bogus political investigation into the proper and legal activities of a Democratic administration - co-opted by a hypocritical, corrupt republican candidate for the presidency - and the response is that it's not worth the time to confront them if the demands aren't 'legally possible.'

It's a wonder the Democratic party is still standing, with the timid, self-loathing surrender your politics represent.

Hmmm. Oh RIGHT, and hiding Cynthia effing Henderson under his desk for years, 'member her? The former Playboy Bunny turned 'Executive Assistant' whom he later placed in charge of securing lucrative publicly funded contracts for a total scam educational software company, ripping off the taxpayers to the tune of some 16 million bucks?

Primarily his crimes involve the massive election fraud, and it's all documented right here on DU from the day this site was begun. All of it, every word.

Why isn't anyone TALKING about this? Dredging it all up and publishing it again? The people on this site did some amazing and horrifying detective work. It's all right here.

shocking how much people have so conveniently forgotten and allowed to be swept under the rug.

And why should we forget about the biggest election fraud and string of conspiracies that the USA has ever known? It was the very demise and destruction of the great Hall of Democracy.

Jeb Bush's clear crimes during his tenure as Governor lead to his idiot brother being rammed into the office of the US Presidency.

Shouldn't we have a think about how well THAT turned out? From 9/11, to Bin Laden, Al Queda, the global economic meltdown of 2008; the horrific Iraq invasion that's lead to the current horrors of ISIS and the meltdown of the entire middle east? Jeb Bush's direct actions have had repercussions around the world leading to horrors and atrocities that are still bringing misery, death and horror to this day and for many years to come, to millions of people.

I didn't 'miss the fact that he's running for President' and that's what terrifies me the most.

The humans on this planet don't deserve any more crap piled on top of what has already happened because the bush criminal cabal.

Then again perhaps, if they're willing to overlook alllll this stuff, then maybe they do.
