I wish they would more frequently speak out against their hateful, fundamentalist brethren in an organized manner that gets widespread exposure that's for sure.

I remember that very well because:

A friend volunteered for the Obama campaign because he had not planned to work that summer at a conventional job anyway. In response, he was asked to go live in Indiana for the summer at his own expense. He declined. On election night, he called to say, "If I had known he had a shot in Indiana, I probably would have done it." And I replied, "Maybe the reason he had a shot in Indiana is that others did do it."

(I am just as candid with my friends IRL as I am on DU. They don't seem to mind.)
