Where is the Nigerian government? Mr. Goodluck Jonathan has a cool name, but seems absolutely feckless.

What is wrong in northern Nigeria that allowed and allows these guys to flourish?

6. Nigeria is three nations in one. The north is the Muslim area

and has not had a close relationship with the south. Likely they would have formed a new country by now, they are so alienated, but the oil is found in the south so there is riches to make the north stay. Boko Haram messes with the people of the north. Maybe Boko Haram will be the thing that finally unites the Muslims to greater Nigeria. They are all terrified of Boko Haram. Then again maybe it will take over the north like it wants to.
