Ted Cruz becomes the newest Obamacare customer

Oh, delicious irony! I do wonder why he failed to mention this in his speech yesterday.

Ted Cruz becomes the newest Obamacare customer

by Joan McCarter

This should be fun.

Ted Cruz, one of the loudest critics of Obamacare, will soon be using it for health insurance coverage.

"We will presumably go on the exchange and sign up for health care and we're in the process of transitioning over to do that," Cruz, a Republican candidate for president, told The Des Moines Register Tuesday.

Cruz's wife, Heidi, is going on an unpaid leave of up absence from her job at Goldman Sachs to join Cruz full time on the campaign trail, Cruz told the Register.

His excuse for not standing by his principles and refusing to sully himself with dirty Obamacare coverage? "Well, it is written in the law that members will be on the exchanges without subsidies just like millions of Americans so that's—I think the same rules should apply to all of us. Members of Congress should not be exempt." Sure, it's about following the law. The law that he says is unconstitutional.

Somehow, I don't think the rabid tea party voters—or his fellow crazy candidates—are going to approve.

Apparently his campaign staff neglected to buy up the most common domain names, even though I'm sure he's known he was going to run for at least a year:

This guy wants elected to the highest office in the land but can't even cross a few Ts and dot some Is. This is fundamental stuff.

That may be the end result of his ill fated run, but I believe he sees himself in the oval office. Tea Party fame has a way of putting one in a bubble of self esteem, and he exposes himself to that as much as possible.

I guess he could also refuse to pay the penalty; but that would be tax evasion and it would likely endear him more to his nutty supporters.

18. Cruz will cite Matthew 3:13 - 3:17:
Tue Mar 24, 2015, 05:27 PM
Mar 2015

13 Then Jesus arrived from Galilee at the Jordan coming to John, to be baptized by him.

14 But John tried to prevent Him, saying, "I have need to be baptized by You, and do You come to me?"

15 But Jesus answering said to him, "Permit it at this time; for in this way it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness." Then he permitted Him.

16 After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and lighting on Him,

17 and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased.".

Cruz will submit to authority for the time being, to show his humility. Now if he'll cite Mark 12:13 - 12:17:

13 Then they sent some of the Pharisees and Herodians to Him in order to trap Him in a statement.

14 They came and said to Him, "Teacher, we know that You are truthful and defer to no one; for You are not partial to any, but teach the way of God in truth. Is it lawful to pay a poll-tax to Caesar, or not?

15 "Shall we pay or shall we not pay?" But He, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them, "Why are you testing Me? Bring Me a denarius to look at."

16 They brought one. And He said to them, "Whose likeness and inscription is this?" And they said to Him, "Caesar's."

17 And Jesus said to them, "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." And they were amazed at Him.

Not much chance of that, but I I wouldn't put anything past this guy, or the GOP.

Congress is required to sign up for the exchanges. It was put in there from the beginning because of complaints from the right that lawmakers should have to "suffer" along with the rest of us.

The irony is that instead of enrolling in "the best health care system in the world" out of pocket with private coverage, Cruz will take what the taxpayers are funding for him. Like everything so far in his campaign, it's not well thought out. He figured he had his wife's insurance, but then she quit to work full time on his election staff.

Notice that he did not say that he would be going on Obamacare. Lord, he couldn't have used that word. And since so many people do not know that "the ACA" is the same as "Obamacare", I am sure that he chose his words carefully.

I have to wonder why they would not keep his wife's health insurance through COBRA. Maybe he doesn't know about that.

His supporters will approve. They will just blame it on President Obama and the Democrats. His supporters will say Ted Cruz being forced to sign up for Obamacare is proof the policy is bad. They will say that if Cruz had been given a choice he would not have signed up for Obamacare. I think Cruz will also promote that line of thought.

just like anyone else who loses health coverage when leaving a job. They would have to pay the full premium instead of Goldman Sachs picking up a big proportion of it, so it sounds like they preferred to take advantage of Ted's eligibility for "Obamacare" instead.

The cognitive dissonance at CPAC at seeing this billionaire spew is mind shredding:

Please guys, join ISIS already. You know you wanna. I've never been exposed to this level of studied, fully embraced depravity, not even when I was churched. Never. But then, I always kept an eye on the EXIT door sign to get out quick. I never trusted all of it.

I'm sick of attempts to steer this nation from principles evolved in The Age of Reason to hallucinations derived from illiterate herdsmen.

Pretty brutal fantasies the guy has. And Cruz wants to starve the 47% to death by default. As did Rand Paul. But nothing new from the crew with bumper stickers about Obama:

Pray for Obama ~"Psalm 109 : 8.

Which starts off with:

May his days be few; may another take his place of leadership.

About the election, huh, but no, there's more:

May his children be fatherless and his wife a widow.

May his children be wandering beggars; may they be driven from their ruined homes.

May a creditor seize all he has; may strangers plunder the fruits of his labor.

May no one extend kindness to him or take pity on his fatherless children.

May his descendants be cut off, their names blotted out from the next generation.

May the iniquity of his fathers be remembered before the Lord; may the sin of his mother never be blotted out.

May their sins always remain before the Lord, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth.

What a nice bunch.
