(33,048 posts)Do you think the DNC will use the irony/hypocrisy and without relenting keep bringing it up?

(41,871 posts)and will tell you so in a loud voice, Ted is one of them who has said so in the past. Republicans have tried to put a stop to it in congress many times. Seems to me you would know this if you participate on Du, as it is common knowledge.

(8,303 posts)These are policies offered by private companies, and they won't be getting a subsidy either. In no sense is it government health care. He's probably doing it so he can complain about the policy on the campaign trail.

(41,871 posts)Ted Cruz, one of the loudest critics of Obamacare, will soon be using it for health insurance coverage.
"We will presumably go on the exchange and sign up for health care and we're in the process of transitioning over to do that," Cruz, a Republican candidate for president, told The Des Moines Register Tuesday.
Cruz's wife, Heidi, is going on an unpaid leave of up absence from her job at Goldman Sachs to join Cruz full time on the campaign trail, Cruz told the Register.
Bloomberg was first to report that Heidi Cruz has taken the leave. CNN noted that Cruz, who has boasted about not needing to receive government health care benefits, would no longer be covered under his wife's health insurance plan.
Cruz confirmed that to the Register.

(8,303 posts)Those with lower incomes can get government subsidies. He would not qualify. You can buy these policies without going through the exchange unless you need the subsidy, and I believe it's a bit cheaper. So why would he do this unless he wants to run on it??
