A transcript from President Obama's remarks about "The Supergirls":
I should give special mention to our Girl Scouts from Oklahoma. Where are those Super Girls? (Applause.) Theyre standing up, but you cant really see them -- (laughter) -- because theyre in kindergarten and first grade. They are todays youngest scientists at six years old. They built their device out of Legos. They realized that some people who might be paralyzed or arthritic might have trouble turning pages on a book so they invented this page turner. It was awesome. It was working so well, despite the fact, as they pointed out -- this is a quote, they said, This is just a prototype. (Laughter.) Thats what they said. I said, well, howd you come up with the idea? They said, well, we had a brainstorming session. (Laughter.) And then one of them asked, Mr. President, have you had brainstorming sessions? (Laughter.) I said, yes, but I didnt come up with something as cool as this -- (laughter) -- an automatic page turner. Unbelievable.

(30,058 posts)they have not discovered "I can't" but go out and create. I wish this would be projects which would be pushed more, it is good for the young people but when they create things which helps those without all abilities it becomes two winners rather than one.

(92 posts)if someone is having trouble turning pages because of a health condition, it was meant to be. He would then think to himself, "If only more people had trouble turning pages and accessing information. They would never find out how crazy I am."

(7,410 posts)I wouldn't let my kids near a Republican president, much less hug one. Ever. Period.
