Heritage Foundation speaker doesn't like real science.

"Totalitarian" science?

Totalitarians, that is, real ones, hate science, since science doesn't work by decree, like creationists use.

Heritage Anti-Evolution Event Blasts 'Cosmos' For Promoting 'Totalitarian Science'

Submitted by Brian Tashman on Monday, 3/23/2015 1:10 pm

The Heritage Foundation today hosted a speech by John G. West of the Discovery Institute, a group founded to promote Intelligent Design, undermine the teaching of evolution in public schools and raise the alarm about the purported persecution of people who do not believe in evolution.

While promoting his book “Darwin Day in America,” West told the audience that proponents of evolution seek to “muzzle” and “silence” Intelligent Design supporters.

West, who concedes that he is not a scientist, also lashed out at Neil deGrasse Tyson’s reboot of the television program “Cosmos.” He criticized President Obama for filming an introduction for the first episode of the series, claiming that the Obama administration has joined scientists in promoting “totalitarian science.”

I have no idea how long we can continue to be this dual nation of the educated and the deluded.

2. They attacked Sagan, and now they're attacking Tyson.

This is nothing new. Not that it's not a problem, it is, but it's not an insurmountable one.

We should just ignore them and continue speaking the truth. Tyson is popular with youth (as was Sagan) and the Heritage Foundation is not.

is banned from the dictionary.

They won't stop until the truth is what they deem the truth to be.

They can not discern fact from fiction.

They will not accept data, research, graphs, charts, or facts.

They are a threat to the survival of the human race.

5. This is truly dangerous idiocy.

I believe that Sagan was mightily amused by attacks on the original Cosmos by religulous know-nothings. Tyson's quote, that "the wonderful thing about science is that it works whether you believe in it or not" must drive them completely apeshit.

6. Writer gives Discovery Inst too much credit. It was founded to 'prove' creationism. They switched to

ID after years of failing to get 'creation science' in schools. So they renamed it and started over -- and crashed into a brick wall in Dovor, PA.

Yet they still ignore reality...

8. They are being muzzled by not being allowed to remove evolution from classrooms

although in many places they have succeeded. It's funny how their version of the muzzle works. They are being silenced by not being allowed to silence others... the typical RW logic loop.
