The other week, Benjamin Netanyahu panicked over the possibility of losing his forth term as Prime Minister, so he made statements about "Arab" voting and being permanently against a "Two-State Solution."
The fact that many seem to overlook is that those comments weren't made by a person who might have been voted in as Prime Minister by Parliament, but by the active Prime Minister of Israel.
So many RWNJs try to discount those statements as just something made by a candidate for office, ignoring the fact that Netanyahu was the current Prime Minister, representing all of Israel. The comments that he made, while he panicked, were immediately recanted by Netanyahu the next day.
Given the expansion of settlements, the current apartheid-like state of Israel, and the slow progress to a two-state solution only gives validity to Netanyahu's opposition to a two-state solution. So, when he made those statements, they were backed up by prior and present actions.
But, keeping on topic, Netanyahu was playing games as the acting Prime Minister, not some possible PM wannabe.

He now has a literal mandate from the Israeli public to pursue his radical rightwing agenda, he would be betraying the people who voted for him to do otherwise.

Either he will follow his base's desires or betray them--making them feel like suckers.
Either way, Netanyahu doesn't care... He's the PM again. It's all about his needs, not as much the State of Israel's.
Unless his actions force another election.
