The McCalmans and the Browns are counting on overflow demand for Omahas hotels when Berkshire Hathaway Inc. shareholders come to town this spring.
Thats because David and Susan McCalman of Papillion, along with their daughter, Susan Brown, and her husband, Nathan, who live in La Vista, have signed up to be first-time hosts for Airbnb, the online company that matches out-of-town visitors with available private lodging.
The target market is the out-of-towners among the 40,000-plus shareholders who will hold their annual Berkshire meeting at the CenturyLink Center on May 2.
Were testing the waters, David McCalman said. If Berkshire weekend goes well, we could do this for the College World Series, too.
