A Columbia Journalism Review study of the Obama administrations relations with the press across two presidential terms reveals a White House determined to conceal its workings from journalists and the public. This confirms what many critics have been saying for years that far from being the Most Transparent Administration Ever as promised, the Obama White House is incredibly opaque, with stories involving the president and his image being carefully managed from behind the scenes.

Obama is not being opaque, he is trying to be transparent through social media instead, through a media other than the corporate Iron Curtain.
