http://rhrealitycheck.org/article/2015/03/16/ohios-voter-fraud-investigation-finds-almost-nothing/As usual:
Ohio Secretary Jon Husteds office announced last week that his ongoing investigation into voter fraud has identified 27 people who are not citizens, but voted in Ohio elections. An earlier report by Husteds office found that 17 non-citizens had cast ballots, adding up to a total of 44 illegally cast ballots since 2012.
Given these numbers, a mere 0.000006 percent of the 7.7 million registered voters in Ohio cast illegal ballots.
"Basically, I found that there wasnt an overwhelming pattern of voter fraud, Butler County Prosecutor Michael T. Gmoser told the local news outlet. Theres a couple of isolated incidents of people making bone-headed decisions.
" I would like to see the Secretary of State focus on the real problem in our elections instead of playing to his base with these distractions, Democratic state Rep. Kathleen Clyde said in a statement. Ohioans deserve answers on why their votes are being thrown out, she said, in reference to the 10,000 absentee ballots rejected during the 2014 election.

(21,656 posts)and we put in all these hurdles to jump over to even be allowed to vote. Because of 27 fraudulent ones. some of which they say are "boneheaded" decisions as opposed to actually having some sort of malicious intent.

There are 8.5 MILLION people in Ohio old enough to vote. 7.7 million registered.
One out of every 285000 registered voters cast a fraudulent ballot.

According to the link above, 1 out of every 12,000 people will be struck by lightning in their lifetime. So you are about 23 times MORE LIKELY to be hit by lightning than to cast a fraudulent ballot.
Everyone in the media should be SCREAMING that this is NOT THE REASON the GOP wants voter suppression laws.
