(3,557 posts)If politicians start talking and acting more liberal, their approval rating increases.
Appeasing and trying to work with a republican congress that won't work with the president doesn't get him good approval numbers.
The more liberal our president talked, the higher his approval rating went. Look at his historical approval rating. When he first came to office his approval rating was sky-high as he won the election talking very liberal. Then he dipped as his actions appeared to make him look more corporatist/centrist. Then his approval climbed when he started to talk more liberal during reelection in 2012. Then he tried to take a more corporatist/centrist stance when he tried work with congress during 2012-2014 and his approval plummeted. Then after the 2014 elections were over, he pretty much said "fuck it!" and started talking liberal again and his approval has climbed.
I hope hope hope hope that our politicians take notice of this trend and stop going for the corporatist/centrist road in politics. It doesn't work both in getting stuff done and in getting a high approval rating.
