WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Likely 2016 Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush used his personal email while governor of Florida to discuss troop deployments, nuclear plant protection and other such matters, the Washington Post reported on Saturday.
The report followed revelations that Democrat Hillary Clinton, also seen as a likely presidential candidate, used a personal email account exclusively during her time as secretary of state, raising questions about security and transparency.
On his personal account, jeb@jeb.org, Bush discussed the Florida National Guard's movements and training activities as well as his decision to provide less security to nuclear power plants in the state, the newspaper reported.
Bush aides told the Post that none of the emails contained sensitive or classified information, and many of the events mentioned in them were documented in press accounts. But security experts say private email systems such as the one used by Bush are more vulnerable to hackers.

The email thing is SUCH a lost cause for them.
People here were complaining about Kornacki talking about it this am. But, he also underscored how EVERY public official and Politician has done it since the advent of email itself!
The law is weak and lets EVERYONE off the hook. Strengthen the law!

(26,877 posts)...but, with that same logic, what did Secretary Clinton say in her emails that pertained to National Security?
The cat's out of the bag, so to speak. Maybe we should address the issue "moving forward".

(45,251 posts)on 911, even though Pres Bush was in Florida that morning and Jeb was not only his brother, but also the Governor of Florida.
From that, this person reasoned that Bush had not really released all of his emails. I don't know if that is 100% valid reasoning, but it is not 100% far fetched, either.
Sorry, I don't know the man's name but I had not caught the introduction and can't watch CSpan's call in shows for very long.
